Before we begin

The useful
questions.

No hidden assumptions.
The detail matters.

How long does a website take?

For planning, allow around 6–10 weeks for a focused brochure website once scope and content are agreed. Larger sites or content-heavy migrations may take longer. Your proposal sets the actual schedule and review points.

Who provides the words and content?

You provide the facts: services, projects, credentials and anything that must be accurate. MWS shapes the structure and can help develop the wording. Copywriting, content entry and approvals are agreed in the scope.

What about photography and video?

We review what you already have, specify what is missing and can work with your chosen photographer or videographer. New shoots and production costs are agreed separately.

Can we update projects ourselves?

Yes, where a CMS is included. We agree which content your team should control, build suitable editing fields and provide a handover. Simple sites can also use an agreed managed-update service.

Who owns the website?

The proposal sets out ownership and handover before work begins. The intended model is that you own your content and the agreed custom work after payment. Fonts, software and third-party services retain their own licences.

How does hosting work?

Hosting, domain control, platform choices and recurring costs are explained before you commit. We agree who manages each account and what a future move would involve. Hosting is not assumed to be free forever.

Can you replace our existing website?

Yes. We review the existing pages, content and important URLs, then plan the migration and redirects. Access to your domain, current site and relevant accounts is arranged before launch.

What happens after launch?

You receive a handover and the launch-support period agreed in your proposal. Beyond that, support can cover maintenance, content updates or planned improvements. Scope, response expectations and fees are agreed in writing.
